Hotel Fortune, a great place to stay on the Burin Peninsula. We stayed 1 nite and got the Ferry to St. Pierre next morning. The hotel is in a great location to catch the ferry or to make a base point to explore the Burin Peninsula. The rooms had all amenities...fridge, microwave, keurig coffee machine etc. The rooms were extremely clean, kudos to the housekeeping staff. Brian, hotel operator, was great to deal with, with quick response when emailed looking for accommodations. Brian was friendly, very helpful and even gave us warnings to watch for moose on part of the highway driving to Fortune. I would totally recommend Hotel Fortune as a place to stay!
Brian was so knowledgeable, and arranged our shuttle as well as our St.Pierre ferry tickets which meant a lot to us. Nicely designed rooms, lovely bathroom, easy access in and out of hotel.
Very convenient and comfortable stay at Hotel Fortune for a night before heading to Saint Pierre. Bed was comfy and room was very clean. Only negative was lack of soundproofing between rooms, I recommend bringing ear plugs. Made use of the parking and shuttle service for our visit and it was easy and convenient both leaving and returning.
Nice clean motel type. Convenient for the St Pierre Ferry. Beds are very comfortable but a bit high. The host provides a stool. All rooms are on the ground floor. There is no restaurant or bar in the hotel. Be sure to eat before you get there in a neighboring town.
Stayed here the night before our ferry to Saint-Pierre. It was very comfortable, clean and well appointed! Highly recommend! They have very reasonable parking service as well if you are not taking your car on the ferry. Super staff & greet value!
The perfect place to stay in the area as well as to stay before the ferry to St. Pierre. The rooms are very well appointed, wonderful bed and bedding, as good or better than in a 5 star. The host was always available via text/phone. Mr Rose Sr took us to the ferry and picked us up on schedule. Our rental car (from St John's) was very secure in the hotel parking. A very, very comfortable and worry-free place. No restaurant but there's one a couple of minutes in Grand Bank. Highly recommended!!
If you need a room in the Fortune area, this is the place to stay. The rooms are luxurious. The beds are so comfortable. The bathrooms are clean and spacious also. If you are taking the ferry, Jay will arrange for a free shuttle to and from the terminal. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Jay also arranged for us to leave our car and traveling fridge behind while we went for an overnight trip to St Pierre. Thanks for making this part of our trip memorable.
The hotel was exceptionally clean and we appreciated the home like decor. Very nice. The shower was so clean, it looked like it was brand new. Although the hotel is on the edge of town, it was close enough for us to walk into town. If you are going to Saint Pierre (SP), make sure you have a big breakfast/lunch in Fortune AND make dinner reservations in SP before leaving Canada. Once you get off the ferry in SP, most places are shutdown until around 7pm. We would definitely stay here again without any hesitation. No complaints at all!
